ABOUT US

Coach House Publications was established in 1994 and has built a reputation as an enterprising independent publishing house based on the Isle of Wight.  It serves both the Island community and the large number of visitors who flock to the Island every year.  In recent times the internet has made it possible for us to offer our range to the wider world. 

The business is now a division of Island Tourist Products, one of the Island’s leading businesses serving the book, gift and tourist markets.  Whenever we can we use local suppliers to support us in what we do.

The Isle of Wight is a unique community with a population of 138,000.  Its proximity to London and the South East of England makes it very attractive to those who seek a slower and more relaxed life style in beautiful surroundings, without the need to feel remote and cut off from society. The island has always been prosperous and the influx of creative people from the mainland has enhanced the extensive island artistic community.

At Coach House we are especially interested in publishing books by Isle of Wight authors on Island subjects or with an Island theme. Throughout the website you will see the Island Author logo

which signifies that the author or artist lives on the Isle of Wight.  We use this logo in our publicity, especially in Island bookshops, so that readers can quickly identify such titles.

Our titles deal with a wide range of Island topics, from explorations of smuggling to transport, prisons, royalty, and even the supernatural.

Being detached from the mainland is certainly a unique experience, whatever the country, and over the years this interest in island communities has led us into an association with some of the islands of the South Atlantic, resulting in our “Wild Isles” series.  Coach House now has one of the finest lists of titles on this fascinating part of the globe.

As lovers of books ourselves we are delighted that the popularity of the written word remains as strong as ever.  Our aim is produce books that inform, entertain and inspire our readers, be they islanders or elsewhere.
